Workers’ comp news for SAIF’s agents

All SAIF offices are open

As of March 14, our main office in Salem and our regional offices are open to the public. Our regional offices are in Bend, Eugene, Medford, North Bend, and Portland.

We closely follow COVID guidance from the Oregon Health Authority. Masks are not currently required for visitors to our offices.

If you find yourself in the neighborhood, stop by – we’d love to see you! Here’s the full list of SAIF offices.

Introducing our new VP of underwriting

On March 1 Todd Graneto became our new vice president of premium audit and underwriting.

He came to SAIF in 2016 as a financial strategist before becoming the controller in July of 2017. In all, he has 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, including financial planning, pricing, reporting, and analysis.

Todd is a collaborative and caring leader, and his talent for building relationships and his knowledge of the industry will serve agents and SAIF well.

Todd holds an MBA from Portland State University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern Oregon University. Before he joined SAIF, he served as the vice president of finance for Health Net, a Fortune 500 company.

Todd looks forward to working with you in his new role! Contact him at todgra@saif.com.

SAIF Learning Center is closing

SAIF will discontinue our SAIF Learning Center later this year. We’ve made this decision for three key reasons:

  • Our vision is to make Oregon the safest and healthiest place to work. Not just for our policyholders — for all Oregonians. Because of this our trainings are open to all employers.
  • After a thorough analysis of the courses and the user experience, we determined that the SAIF Learning Center is not being used by most of our customers. Thirty policyholders launched 89% of the content for 2021 and less than 160 employers viewed a course in 2021.
  • SAIF is currently exploring new training opportunities and how we deliver them.

We have notified all policyholders who have accessed the SAIF Learning Center, and we’re in the process of following up with those who launched one or more courses in 2021. A grateful thank you to all the agents who have assisted in this process and helped us with your insights.

SAIF continues to create and provide top-quality training materials for safety and health related topics. We provide cost-free training through our YouTube channel, and on our website. Additionally, we host regular webinars and, when possible, in-person training opportunities. You can find more information and on-demand recordings of our best, most viewed training at saif.com/training.
