Large sculptures sound the alarm about plastic pollution littering ocean beaches

Guided by their motto: “Art to save the sea,” Washed Ashore uses larger-than-life sculptures and educational programs to sound the alarm about plastic pollution littering ocean beaches the world over.

The unique sculptures start from plastic debris gathered by volunteers on coastal shores before being sorted by color, assembled into larger pieces by volunteers, and finished by sculpture builders. They’ve completed 85 sculptures and have more in the works.
