Coastal Farm & Home Supply

As an essential business, Coastal Farm & Home stores stayed open during the pandemic. But it wasn’t business as usual.

Changes came in the form of added door greeters, cleaning protocols, masks for employees and customers, distancing measures, boosting online ordering, and implementing curbside pickup.

“It seemed like every week there was something we hadn’t thought of. But we have a good system in place and constant communication,” said Peggy Miller, human resources director.

When wildfires caused evacuations across the state, staff sprang into action to get many tons of feed out to displaced animals.

One employee lent his farm to evacuees of both the two-legged and four-legged variety. They even provided equipment to firefighters.
