Costco joins prescription drug program

Injured workers can now obtain medication for their work-related injury from Costco in addition to dozens of other pharmacies.

As of October 1, 2008, Costco has joined the Oregon Prescription Drug Program. Injured workers can now use their OPDP drug card at any Costco pharmacy nationwide.

In addition, families who are enrolled in OPDP for their general prescription drug needs (not just for workers' comp claims) can also now purchase those medications at Costco.

What is OPDP?
OPDP is a prescription drug purchasing pool which helps increase access to prescription drugs by the uninsured and lower costs for state and city governments. It does so by pooling prescription drug purchasing power, using evidence-based research to develop a preferred drug list of lowest cost drugs, securing competitive discounts with pharmacies, and bringing transparent pharmacy benefit management services to groups.
