SAIF’s Claims Division employs 13 registered nurses with an average of 23 years of nursing experience. Most of our nurses work within the claims teams and assist claims adjusters in understanding medical conditions, including mechanism of injury and the usual and customary treatment specific to the injury.

SAIF nurse consultants help assess the long-term implications of medical conditions, assist with predicting future treatment needs and costs, and work with medical providers and managed care organizations (MCOs) to coordinate and facilitate the most appropriate and cost-effective medical care for an injured worker.

Additional nurse assistance

The medical services manager is responsible for the development of all medical programs including managed care organizations, building relationships with provider groups, and overseeing the work of contract physicians.
