Preventing fraud
We all have a stake in watching out for workers compensation fraud. Preventing fraud keeps rates low and protects workers benefits by making sure the right people are receiving them - and thats good for employers, workers, and all Oregonians.
SAIF's commitment to preventing fraud starts with our responsibility to protect the integrity of the state industrial accident fund. The experienced staff in our Fraud and Investigation Division manage the largest insurance investigation unit in Oregon.

Remember, one or more of these signs could apply to a worker with a legitimate injury.
Employers who knowingly underreport their payroll, doctors who knowingly bill for services unrelated to a workplace injury, and workers who knowingly receive benefits not rightly theirs are all guilty of workers' compensation fraud. If fraud is proven, all related claims costs are removed from the claim and we seek repayment from the offending party.
