Safety and the aging workforce: Preparing for a workforce in transition

Overview

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, by the end of 2010, one quarter of our work population will be 65 years or older, and many will continue to work past 65. Employers face new challenges presented by age-related changes to work capacities, and as the old saying goes, "failure to plan is a plan to fail."

This interactive session will address key physiological and biomechanical changes that come as a result of the aging process and provide specific strategies and methods that can be employed to improve safety and productivity for our aging workforce.
