Domestic violence in the workplace
Mid-Valley Women’s Crisis Service, located in Salem,
provides information on domestic violence and operates
a shelter for victims. Oregon’s Department of Human Services
also has a web page on domestic violence, with additional information,
as well as where you can locate shelters statewide.
At the website Workplaces Respond to Domestic & Sexual Violence, you get information about the cost and other impacts of domestic violence in the workplace. You can also take a quiz to test your knowledge of domestic violence and use the site’s policy creator tool to help make your workplace safer.
You can learn more about the rights of victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking on the Bureau of Labor and Industries website.
The Corporate Alliance to End Partner Violence is a national organization dedicated to assisting employers with developing effective prevention strategies. A wide variety of workplace policy development and training materials are available on its website.
Another important resource can be found on the National Domestic Violence Hotline.
