Perhaps the most common workplace injuries are due to improper ergonomics in the office. They are among the easiest to prevent, too.
Beginning today with the launch of a new video series, employers will have access at their fingertips, any time, to training and instruction that will help them conduct ergonomic assessments in their own offices.
The series, called "Office ergonomics: Simple solutions," instructs employers how to conduct assessments for the primary equipment (chair, monitor, keyboard, etc.) and areas in their office.

Doubly efficient
The videos offer companies the convenience of getting the training at the optimum time for them, which also saves them, and their employees, time. Of course, employers who use the training to improve their office ergonomics could save money, too.
The videos are doubly efficient because they free up SAIF safety representatives to provide other priority services to customers, which, in turn, allows SAIF to use resources more effectively.
Teaching the basics
"Nearly every day, SAIF receives a request from a policyholder requesting assistance with an office ergonomic assessment," said Chuck Easterly, loss control manager.
"In most cases, all the policyholder really needs is someone to help them understand the basic principles to make their workstation a good fit for the work they are doing. These new videos do an outstanding job of walking the viewer through a step-by-step assessment process. They're easy to understand, easy to do, and available 24 hours a day."
The information is delivered in eight short videos and feature SAIF senior safety management consultants.
